Visiting Our Community
VISITING OUR COMMUNITY DURING THE CURRENT PANDEMIC
Providence Point continues to follow guidelines provided by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and other regulatory agencies to keep our residents safe during the COVID-19 Pandemic. We also strive to open our community for safe visitation to personal care and skilled nursing care residents. Following are Providence Point’s current guidelines for visitation for healthcare and skilled nursing residences. As the characteristics of the pandemic change, these guidelines will also change. We encourage you to check here before making plans to visit our community. Thank you.

Residents in isolation due to testing positive for COVID-19 or in quarantine for possible COVID-19 infection are unable to have visits until they are out of isolation/quarantine.
Please call 412.489.3566 for questions regarding visitation.
Please be aware, without notice, visitations will be restricted if there is a new COVID-19 positive resident or staff. This is called an ‘outbreak.’ Prior to resuming visits, all residents and staff must be tested and there must be no new cases. Further information regarding quarantine during an outbreak of COVID-19 in the Personal Care residence is below.
In the case of an outbreak contact tracing will be conducted for the previous two weeks. When a new case of COVID-19 among residents or staff is identified, Providence Point Personal Care will immediately begin outbreak testing and suspend all visitation (except that required under federal disability rights law), until at least one round of facility-wide testing is completed. Visitation can resume based on the following criteria:
• If the first round of outbreak testing reveals no additional COVID-19 cases in other areas (e.g., units) of the facility, then visitation can resume for residents in areas/units with no COVID-19 cases. However, the facility should suspend visitation on the affected unit until the facility meets the criteria to discontinue outbreak testing. For example, if the first round of outbreak testing reveals two more COVID-19 cases in the same unit as the original case, but not in other units, visitation can resume for residents in areas/units with no COVID-19 cases.
• If the first round of outbreak testing reveals one or more additional COVID-19 cases in other areas/units of the facility (e.g., new cases in two or more units), then Providence Point Personal Care will suspend visitation for all residents (vaccinated and unvaccinated), until the facility meets the criteria to discontinue outbreak testing.
• Admissions from Hospital: fully vaccinated residents will not be in quarantine upon admission or return to personal care unless they had exposure with prolonged close contact to a positive person as indicated in PA HAN 559.
