Job Description:

Leads the unit staff in the provision of resident care.  Participates in assessment, provision of direct care, and evaluation of resident response to care, ensuring that the needs of the residents are being met.

Duties may include:

Assess the resident on a continuum basis to make sure that all areas of the resident’s care are met.

Participate in the care planning process by initiating and updating the actual care plan, communicating it to the other staff, and by participating as a team member in the actual conference as needed.

Administers medications and treatments as ordered by the physician and in accordance with current practice standards and approved nursing techniques.

Assigns resident care to nurse aides as per unit procedure.

Experience Required:

Education Required:

·         Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; or graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Knowledge of federal, state, and JCAHO regulations/standards.

·         Current Registered Nurse license; current CPR Certification.
