Job Description:

This position is a part time position, approximately 25 hours per week (M-F), at Providence Point, a Continuing Care Retirement Community in the South Hills, which offers a full continuum of services ranging from living independently to skilled nursing. Assisted living and the memory support unit are also available for residents as they progress through the care continuum. The individual selected for this position will be responsible for increasing the quality of life of residents living independently by facilitating their ability to effectively access supportive resources and services (i.e. home care), assessing any deficits in physical, social, spiritual and mental well-being and implementing appropriate interventions to enhance these aspects of wellness. The Independent Living Social Worker, as part of the Social Services Department, will also be expected to provide coverage for the rest of the Social Services Department as needed, specifically for the Heath Center and Assisted Living/Memory Support units.

Experience Required:

Education Required:

Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Social Work from four-year college or university, and one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Experience working with the elderly in long term care services with knowledge of geriatric mental health services preferred.  Computer knowledge.
